Super Eagles intensify training for World’s qualifier against South Africa

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have intensified preparations ahead of the team’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying fixture against South Africa coming up on Friday, June 7, by 8 pm in Uyo.

Fifteen Super Eagles players participated in the team’s first training session ahead of the South Africa match, which is scheduled to take place at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.

The team’s media officer, Mr. Promise Efoghe, reported that 13 players trained on Sunday morning, with two additional players joining later, bringing the total to 15 for the evening session.

Among the 15 players in camp are Wilfred Ndidi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Samuel Chukwueze, Stanley Nwabali, Terem Moffi, Victor Boniface, and Raphael Onyedika.

Also present are Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Alhassan Yusuf, Chidozie Awaziem, Ojo Olorunleke, Ismaila Sodiq, Ibrahim Olawoyin, and Benjamin Tanimu, with more players expected to join soon.

The Super Eagles will be without Victor Osimhen, William Troost-Ekong, Zaidu Sanusi, and Moses Simon due to injuries
