English Premier League club, Chelsea have appointed Enzo Maresca as their new head coach on a five-year contract with the option of an extra year.

Maresca replaces Mauricio Pochettino, who left by mutual consent on May 21, 2024, after just one season at the club.

The 44-year-old took charge of Leicester City in June 2023 and led them to the Championship title and a Premier League promotion last term.

The Italian who will begin his new role on 1st July, is Chelsea’s sixth managerial appointment in five years and the fourth since American investor Todd Boehly bought the club in May 2022.

Chelsea endured a difficult 2023/2024 season but won their final five Premier League games to end the campaign in sixth and qualify for the Europa Conference League.

The Blues also finished runners-up in the Carabao Cup and reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup.
