PHYNA PROMISES TO HUMBLE NKECHI BLESSING IN CELEBRITY BOXING BOUT
Former BBNaija winner Ijeoma Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has vowed to defeat Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing in the first female celebrity boxing bout of Chaos in the Ring, scheduled for Thursday at The Balmoral, Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos.
The feud between the two entertainers began after Nkechi Blessing publicly challenged Phyna on Instagram over a movie role and subsequent online exchanges.
At Tuesday’s face-off ahead of the bout, the two women engaged in a heated war of words, with each vowing to overpower the other in the ring.
CARTER EFE, SPEED DARLINGTON SET FOR CELEBRITY BOXING CLASH
Celebrity boxing is also taking another turn as skit maker Carter Efe and rapper Speed Darlington prepare to face each other in the ring.
The two entertainers had a heated face-off ahead of their October 1 boxing match in Lagos, exchanging threats during a press conference.
The event reportedly became chaotic after Speed Darlington kicked a birthday cake presented to Carter Efe to the ground, while firecrackers caused a brief fire at the venue which was quickly put out.
The much-anticipated clash is expected to attract attention from fans as both entertainers prepare to settle their rivalry in the boxing ring.
MARY NJOKU CRITICISES MISUSE OF ‘TOUCH NOT MY ANOINTED’ SCRIPTURE
Nollywood actress and filmmaker Mary Njoku has criticised Christians who invoke scripture to avoid accountability for their words and actions.
In a post shared on Instagram, Njoku questioned the common use of the biblical phrase, “touch not my anointed,” arguing that it should not be used to shield people from legitimate criticism over their public statements or actions.
She stressed that using the Bible to suppress genuine concerns or discourage people from speaking the truth could have negative consequences, noting that public figures are human and capable of making mistakes.
OLU JACOBS REMEMBERED IN NEW DOCUMENTARY
Nollywood veteran actor Olu Jacobs is being remembered through a special documentary celebrating his life and career.
Titled Doyen of Nollywood: Celebrating Olu Jacobs, the documentary highlights his more than four decades of contributions to theatre, television and film.
It features contributions from several industry personalities, including Joke Silva, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Patience Ozokwor and Kate Henshaw.
The documentary is airing on Africa Magic channels, giving audiences an opportunity to reflect on the life and legacy of one of Nigeria’s celebrated veteran actors.
‘BLACK MARKET’ SETS NEW GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS TITLE
Nigerian cinema has recorded another major milestone after the film Black Market set a new Guinness World Records title for the largest attendance at a film premiere.
The premiere, held at Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos, attracted 51,258 people.
The Lagos State Government has congratulated the organisers and celebrated the achievement as another significant moment for Nigeria’s film industry.
The record has placed Nigerian cinema in the global spotlight and generated fresh conversations about the growing scale of Nollywood productions and events.

American model Amber Rose has revealed that she no longer identifies as a feminist, saying her perspective changed after becoming a mother.
Rose explained that motherhood gave her a different outlook on life and helped her appreciate the role of men.
She acknowledged that her position has not gone down well with some of her female followers, but maintained that although she no longer identifies as a feminist, she still supports girls’ empowerment and women’s advancement.
