Customs Backs Nigeria’s Landmark 2026 Defence Expo

Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has pledged full support for AFRIDECS, Africa’s first Defence and Security Exhibition, set for 2026 in Nigeria.

The event will showcase indigenous military tech across land, sea, air, cyber, and space to global partners.

Director-General of the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON), Major General Babatunde Alaya led the Steering Committee to NCS Headquarters, calling AFRIDECS a hub for innovation, collaboration, and Nigeria’s defence leadership, stating that it leverages local manufacturing with international expertise.

Deputy Comptroller-General of Customs, Dera Nnadi, who represented the CGC Adawale Adeniyi, promised seamless temporary imports for equipment while enforcing security.

Deputy Comptroller-General of Customs Timi Bomodi, in charge of Enforcement, Inspection and Investigation added simplified procedures with advance docs and End User Certificates for military hardware.

The expo positions Nigeria as Africa’s defence innovation leader, boosting security, economy, and diplomacy with Customs as key enabler
