NCS Commissions School Projects, Marks Customs Cares Anniversary

In one year, Customs Cares, a Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative has evolved from concept to nationwide platform, revitalising schools, healthcare, water access, and communities.

On Tuesday, Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) commissioned a refurbished assembly hall and other projects at Government Secondary School Wuse Zone 3, Abuja, also marking the initiative’s first anniversary.

Speaking at the event, Comptroller-General, Adewale Adeniyi highlighted impacts of the initiative on schools and communities, urging partnership with FCT Education Board for revenue to maintain facilities.

He said NCS will form a committee to review GSS Wuse Zone 3 students’ results, assess performance, and drive improvements, explaining why the school is NCS choice.

Adeniyi revealed plans to reach 50,000 pupils nationwide via Customs Cares, with 15,000 already benefiting in year one.

He said the initiative now extends beyond schools to water provision in underserved communities, advancing sustainable development.
