Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has received pledges of support from Abia State leaders, who assured that Ndigbo will correct past mistakes in the 2027 elections and rally behind President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Kalu received the assurance during a New Year homage to APC chieftain, Senator Chris Adighije, in Umuahia South LGA.

Adighije, expressing surprise at the visit, pledged Olokoro Umuahia clan’s backing for Tinubu’s development efforts.

“I’m surprised. Olokoro, one of three clans in Umuahia South with 4 electoral wards, stands with this message of goodwill from President Tinubu.
Last time, we got it wrong, let’s not repeat the mistake,” Adighije said.

Kalu urged Abians and Ndi Igbo to”Invest votes in Tinubu, don’t waste them. Votes are democracy shares. Let’s sow in the southern political corridor with President Tinubu now, for a handshake today that returns tomorrow. Adopt our business strategies in politics, stand with him; he rewards loyalty.”

In a separate visit, former Abia lawmaker Chukwudi Apugo commended Kalu’s impacts, including the South East Development Commission Bill, and pledged support.

“You’ve empowered people, changed Abia’s political narrative, and attracted appointments. Don’t be deterred, we’ll follow you.” He said.

Kalu invited Apugo to join APC: “Honour your father, a founding father. The train has started; let’s change the narrative together.”
