The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has intensified calls for President Bola Tinubu to cut short his foreign trip and return home immediately.

The Party cited the urgent need to tackle escalating insurgency following deadly attacks in Maiduguri, Borno State.

In a statement, National Chairman of ADC, Abdullahi Abdullahi lambasted the administration’s handling of the crisis, which has been cited as part of a broader strategy to combat insurgency and criminal activities.

“The situation demands more than routine statements and reassurances. It requires decisive leadership, accountability, and a clear demonstration that the protection of Nigerian lives is the government’s top priority,” he declared.

As the nation reels from the Maiduguri violence, the opposition party’s stance reflects growing frustration with security lapses under the Tinubu government. For many Nigerians, the expectation is clear: leaders must deliver not just words, but tangible safety and hope in times of crisis.

Whether President Tinubu will respond to the summons remains uncertain. Yet, with public discourse fixated on Maiduguri and national security threats, the pressure mounts for strong, focused action at this pivotal moment in Nigeria’s history.
