Professor Nentawe Yilwatda was returned as National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), with Surajudeen Basiru elected National Secretary, at the party’s 4th Elective National Convention held Friday night at Eagle Square, Abuja.

The Convention Election Committee announced the consensus picks amid several other officials.

President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Speaker Tajudeen Abbas attended the event, themed “Unity in Progress: Consolidating the Renewed Hope Agenda.”

It was organised by a committee led by former Katsina Governor, Aminu Masari and ex-Secretary to the Government, Anyim Pius Anyim.

Tinubu praised APC unity since 2023, stating: “Today, I stand before you with a heart full of gratitude, pride, and hope. This Convention offers us the platform to renew our bond, strengthen our resolve, and recommit to our ideals.
Unity in Progress is a potent reminder that progress is impossible without unity.”
