Customs Crushes Target: N7.28tn Exceeds 2025 Goal

Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) said the service has smashed its 2025 revenue target, raking in N7.38 trillion—N6.97 billion above the N6.5 trillion goal, a 19 percent jump from 2024’s N6.1 trillion.
Comptroller-General.of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi announced this at the International Customs Day 2026 in Abuja, coinciding with the launch of the Service’s Time Release Study (TRS).
He credited the surge to enhanced trader compliance, smarter data analytics, digital upgrades, and firm enforcement, stating that that there was no arbitrary fees or trader harassment while spotlighting private sector teamwork.
Under the theme “Customs Protecting Society through Vigilance and Commitment,” Adeniyi unveiled three pillars for 2026: tech-powered, intelligence-driven enforcement; clearance reforms for speed and transparency; and ironclad partnerships across government, industry, and global allies.
He hailed President Bola Tinubu, the Minister of Trade and Investment, World Customs Organisation, UK support for TRS, and NCS officers in tough postings and business collaborators.
The TRS blueprint promises synced inspections, gate harmony, and system links, proving security and prosperity walk hand in hand.
