ECOWAS Mourns Buhari, Praise Him as a Champion of Regional Integration

The Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of the former President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari.
In a statement by the President of the ECOWAS Commission, Omar Touray said ex-President Buhari was a distinguished statesman whose invaluable contributions greatly advanced democracy and regional integration in West Africa and across the African continent.
Touray extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, President Bola Tinubu, the Government of Nigeria, and to the entire Nigerian people.
Similarly, President Julius Maada Bio,
Chairman of the ECOWAS Authority of
Heads of State and Government has commiserated with the Nigerian Government over the death of the ex-President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari.
Maada Bio who is the President of Sierra-Leone noted Buhari’s courageous commitment to the advancement of regional peace.
He said late President Buhari was a formidable statesman whose dedication to the service of his nation will remain a testament to his legacy.
