FCT Polls 2026: APC Sweeps Big Councils, PDP Fights Back in Key Spots

Fresh results from the February 21 FCT Area Council elections show APC dominating urban strongholds, PDP clinching a surprise in Gwagwalada, and outcomes pending in three others.
INEC reported smooth voting across AMAC, Bwari, Gwagwalada, Abaji, Kuje, and Kwali.AMAC Landslide.
In another development, Collation Officer, Andrew Abue crowned incumbent Christopher Maikalangu (APC) with 40,295 votes (62,861 valid; 65,197 total cast; 2,336 rejected).
Of 837,338 registered, 65,676 were accredited.Top scorers:APC: 40,295ADC: 12,109PDP: 3,398SDP: 2,185NNPP: 1,694Full 12-party list available; PDP took Karu and Karishi wards.
Also,, Kasim’s PDP Outguns APC Philip Akpen named PDP’s Mohammed Kasim winner at 22,165 votes over APC’s Yahaya Shehu (17,788). From 207,577 registered and 46,294 accredited, minors like APGA (1,687) and ADC (1,366) lagged.
At Bwari, Ishaku Seals APC Victory as Prof. Mohammed Nurudeen declared Joshua Ishaku (APC) top dog with 18,466 votes across 10 wards. ADC: 4,254; ZLP: 3,515.
