Finance Minister Edun Inaugurates New NDIC Leadership, Charges Team to Drive Economic Stability

The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, has inaugurated Mr. Thompson Oludare Sunday as Managing Director/CEO and Dr. Kabir Sabo Katata as Executive Director (Operations) of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC).

Speaking at the ceremony in Abuja, Edun emphasised NDIC’s vital role in ensuring financial stability and urged the new leadership to leverage their expertise.

Mr. Sunday, a veteran with over 30 years in banking supervision, thanked President Bola Tinubu for the appointment and pledged to meet national expectations.

Dr. Katata, an expert in energy strategy and quantitative finance, brings 28 years of experience from diverse sectors, including power and telecommunications.

Upon arrival at NDIC’s headquarters, Mr. Sunday promised staff collaboration to elevate the corporation’s performance, focusing on its statutory mandate to safeguard Nigeria’s financial system.
