Hunters kill 2 kidnappers, rescue victims in Kogi

A team of security operatives and hunters in the early hours of Sunday tracked and killed two kidnappers and rescued two abductees in Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State.
It was gathered that one of the criminals died during a shootout with the operatives while the other one died on the way to the hospital from gunshot wounds.
According to a statement released by a Special Assistant to the Chairman of Okehi LGA, King Habib, the rescue operation took place around Upogoro Hill.
The statement reads in part: “Professional and local hunters in Okehi LGA, in an early morning operation apprehended some kidnappers around Upogoro Hill after credible intelligence reports.
“The gang has been terrorising people on Okene-Lokoja and Okene-Auchi roads before they were nabbed.
“The Hunters also rescued two victims from the kidnappers: Mallam Sanni Uwaiti and Ramatu Tukur, both of Toll Gate area on Okene-Ajoakuta road, while arms and ammunition were recovered.
The Chairman of Okehi LGA, Mr Abdulrahaman Ohiare, assured that his council would leave no stone unturned in the bid to rid Okehi and its environs of all forms of criminality.
