NAICOM, NDPC Collaborate To Entrench Data Protection Policy

The National Insurance Commission, NAICOM has expressed its readiness to collaborate with the National Data Protection Commission, NDPC to deepen data protection in the country.

This was made known when the National Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer of the National Data Protection Commission, Vincent Olatunj paid a courtesy visit to the Chief Executive Officer of the National Insurance Commission, Olusegun Omosehin, in Abuja.

Omosehin assured NAICOM ‘s commitment to the attainment of the mandates of the respective Agencies.

Responding, Olatunji expressed gratitude to NAICOM and emphasized that NPDC’s visit was to create awareness of the data protection law as well as seek the cooperation and collaboration of NAICOM to entrench data protection policy among its required entities.

Currentnews.com.ng learnt that the NDPC, one of the agencies newly created by the Federal Government is the first agency taking the step to create awareness and build capacity before full enforcement of the law on protection of data privacy in the country.
