NDLEA Smashes Drug Syndicates: Cocaine in Stockfish Heads, Fentanyl to UK, 80-Year-Old Grandpa Nabbed with Meth

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) intercepted a massive cocaine consignment hidden in heads of imported dry stockfish (“Okporoko”) at Ojo, Lagos, on March 19, arresting kingpin Akputa Dickson Ejike, 36.
They recovered 237 wraps weighing 5.80kg from three jumbo bags meant for Delhi, India.
In Lagos on March 25, the Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) seized 1.9kg methamphetamine in automobile filters from Benin Republic and 40 ampoules of morphine sulphate plus nine of fentanyl in UK-bound parcels at a courier firm.
Special Operations Unit (SOU) raids on March 26 netted drug queenpin Omolade Abigail Jolayemi (“Iya Ghana”), 46, and her aide Sarah Zainab Agbabiaka, 31, at 13 Carter Street, Yaba, Lagos, with 135 blocks of Ghana Loud cannabis (76.30kg). Same day in Surulere, Anayo Lucky Ohabiro, 39, was arrested at Doyin bus stop with 78 blocks (41kg).
Ekiti: 80-year-old Oke Samuel arrested at Mosafuneto camp, Efon-Alaaye, with 2.2kg skunk and 1.8g methamphetamine.
Ondo: Enuwa Kehinde Kingsley, 37, nabbed at Ogbese, Akure North, with 894.72kg skunk.
Benue: Saater Nyam, 35, caught at Pevi village, Guma LGA, with 116.7kg skunk.
Edo: Felix Donald, 25, arrested in Ekpoma warehouse, Esan West LGA, with 576.5kg skunk and 33 bottles of codeine syrup.
Taraba: Truck DUT 457 ZB intercepted en route from Garbachede to Gombe, yielding 135kg skunk; suspects Osama Mamuda, 21, and Auwal Umar, 22, arrested.
Director, Media & Advocacy, NDLEA, Femi Babafemi stated in a statement that NDLEA Commands also ran War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) sensitization at schools in Cross River, Adamawa, Oyo, Kano, and Lagos,
NDLEA Chairman Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd) commended MMIA, SOU, DOGI, and commands in Ekiti, Ondo, Benue, Edo, and Taraba for balancing supply and demand reduction.
