NIDCOM Boss Thunders Against Xenophobic Bloodshed: Justice Now for Slain Nigerian Driver in SA

Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), fiercely condemned the brutal murder of 22-year-old Nigerian e-hailing driver Isaac Satlet in Pretoria, South Africa, demanding swift justice, arrests, and prosecution.

In a hard-hitting statement from Abuja, Dabiri-Erewa decried the worrisome surge in crimes and killings targeting Nigerians in South Africa.

“Nigeria and South Africa are African brothers, why do evil minds unleash heinous acts on fellow Africans?” she asked.

She pressed South African authorities to deliver justice for Satlet, protect non-indigenes’ lives and property, and bolster rapid response protocols for diaspora incidents. NIDCOM pledged intensified risk mapping and host-country engagement.

Director of Media, Public Relations and Protocols, NIDCOM explained that A female suspect faces charges of car hijacking and murder after Satlet’s February 11 attack. The ambitious student, set to graduate next month and study in Canada, picked up a male-female pair via an e-hailing app.They hijacked his vehicle; his body and car were dumped in Atteridgeville.

Dashcam footage sped up her arrest. She appears in Atteridgeville Magistrate’s Court today, February 16. Police hunt the male suspect, expecting more arrests amid outrage over e-hailing driver safety.
