Rafsanjani Assumes FLONY Advisory Chair, Strengthening CISLAC-Youth Ties

The Executive Director, Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre (CISLAC) Comrade Auwal Musa Rafsanjani, has accepted appointment as Chairman of the Advisory Board for the Free Light of Nigerian Youth Foundation (FLONY).

FLONY, a youth-led non-governmental organisation focused on skills acquisition, capacity building, and advocacy for young people and women, operates in over 18 states and has empowered more than 10,000 beneficiaries since inception.

During a courtesy visit to CISLAC’s Abuja head office, FLONY Founder, Ambassador Farid Musa Jauro hailed the appointment as strategic and timely.

She cited Rafsanjani’s expertise in governance, transparency advocacy, and youth development also as Head of Transparency International Nigeria to guide FLONY’s expansion and program consolidation.

Acting Secretary General of FLONY, Aminu Lawal Usman thanked Rafsanjani and CISLAC, predicting his involvement would unlock growth, partnerships, and greater impact.

“With Comrade Rafsanjani, we’ll do even more for Nigerians and Africans,” he said, praising his open-door policy.

In response, Rafsanjani commended FLONY’s self-funded youth and women empowerment efforts under Jauro’s leadership.

He urged the group to stay non-partisan, avoid political interference, document activities rigorously, build strategic partnerships with integrity-driven allies, and attract like-minded supporters.

He challenged FLONY to lead policy advocacy on employment, poverty reduction, youth/women empowerment, and security, emphasising civil society’s role in tackling Nigeria’s socio-economic issues.

The partnership between CISLAC and FLONY aims to amplify advocacy, youth programming, and sustainable development nationwide and beyond.
