Troops Crush Terror, 452 Arrested, 210K Litres Stolen Crude Seized in January Sweep

Nigerian military operations have recorded major wins in January 2026, killing terrorists, arresting 452 suspects, rescuing 284 kidnap victims, and smashing oil theft networks nationwide.
Defence Media Operations Director, Major General Michael Onoja stated at a media briefing in Abuja.
He said Troops neutralised several high-value targets including 5 terrorist commanders and 3 lieutenants under Operation Hadin Kai.124 terrorists and family members surrendered; air strikes in Niger State wiped out threats at Chukuba Village.
He added the achievements to include oil theft bust: 210,300 litres crude, 66,725 litres of Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), 660 litres of Dual Purpose Kerosene (DPK) and 5,000 litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), 53 illegal refineries destroyed.
Onoja echoed the Chief of Defence Staff’s
(CDS) mantra, “See Something, Say Something.”
He urged leaders and citizens to mobilise youths and feed actionable intelligence for continued gains.
