U.S. Revises Visa Reciprocity Policy for Nigeria, Single-Entry Visas Now Standard

The United States (U.S.) Department of State has updated its visa reciprocity policy affecting Nigeria. Effective immediately.

Most non-immigrant, non-diplomatic visas issued to Nigerian citizens will be single-entry with a three-month validity. Visas issued before July 8, 2025, remain unchanged.

This change, according to the U.S reflects ongoing global standards aimed at protecting U.S. immigration integrity, including secure travel documents, managing visa overstays, and sharing security information.

In a statement, the U.S.said it is working closely with Nigerian authorities to help meet these criteria.
