Wike’s Magic: Second PDP Chairman Quits for APC in 48 Hours

In a stunning political U-turn, barely 24 hours after Bwari’s Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairmanship candidate, Julius Adamu stepped down for All Progressives Congress (APC)’s Joshua Ishaku Musa, AMAC’s PDP contender Zadna Dantani has followed suit, stepping down for APC’s Christopher Zakka Maikalangu.
Dantani credited FCT Minister Nyesom Wike’s intervention, calling it a brotherhood election in support of President Bola Tinubu’s good works.
“I’ve consulted widely and agreed not to contest against my brother Christopher,” he declared, confirming he’d submitted his INEC withdrawal letter today.”
He continued, “This is a brotherhood election,” urging supporters across AMAC’s 12 wards to back Maikalangu en masse on February 21.
His formal letter to INEC emphasised the move was voluntary, after family and stakeholder consultations from his Gosa Village base.
The double defections signal Wike’s sway ahead of Saturday’s Area Council polls, potentially handing APC clean sweeps in key FCT councils.
