Deputy Speaker Kalu Appoints Hart as New Chief of Staff

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has named Sam Ifeanyi Hart as his new Chief of Staff (CoS), succeeding Toby Okechukwu, who recently became Executive Director, Projects at the South East Development Commission (SEDC).

Hart previously served as Special Adviser on Public Affairs to the Deputy Speaker and has a robust background in consultancy and training.

He was Director-General of the Abia State Marketing and Quality Management Agency from 2019 to 2023 and held other significant roles.

Additionally, Hart attended the Senior Executive Course 45 at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, where he served as Course Secretary-General.

Hart’s career spans law, leadership, and public service, complemented by multiple academic qualifications including a Master’s in Environmental Law (LLM) and a Bachelor’s in Law (LLB) from Abia State University.

In a statement, Levinus Nwabughiogu, Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, disclosed that Hart is currently pursuing a doctorate in Law and has served on various corporate and non-governmental boards.

As Chief of Staff, Hart is expected to leverage his expertise to guide legislative activities, advance policy initiatives, and support good governance.
