Nigeria-US Air Strikes Hit Northwest Terror Targets

Nigeria’s Federal Government has confirmed precision air strikes targeting terrorist hideouts in the Northwest, bolstering the fight against violent extremism.

Foreign Affairs Minister Yusuf Tuggar announced this Friday via spokesperson Kimiebi Ebienfa.

He highlighted Nigeria’s structured security cooperation with international partners, including the United States, which enabled the strikes.

“This collaboration has delivered precision hits on terrorist targets in the Northwest,” Tuggar stated.

The operation follows U.S. pledges for enhanced surveillance and counter-terror support in northern Nigeria.

It aligns with President Donald Trump’s Thursday order for U.S. strikes against ISIS militants in the region.

Tuggar stressed that the partnership adheres to bilateral agreements, international law, and respect for sovereignty.

It involves intelligence sharing, strategic coordination, and other support measures.

“Nigeria prioritises protecting civilian lives, national unity, and citizens’ rights regardless of faith or ethnicity,” he added.

He continued, “Terrorist attacks on Christians, Muslims, or any group threaten our values and global peace.

“The government vows to sustain these efforts, disrupting terror financing, logistics, and cross-border threats while building local security capabilities.”
