Nigeria Prepared For Robust Economic Relationship With Tunisia … FG

The Federal Government has expressed readiness over the bilateral economic relationship with the Republic of Tunisia.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar made this known at the Multisectoral Economic Forum between Nigeria and Tunisia in Abuja.

Recalled that Tunisia delegations arrived in Nigeria on Monday to participate in the economic forum.

Tuggar said that the trade mission is a confirmation of excellent bilateral relationship between both countries and has potentials to enhance existing collaboration.

According to him, the move is to intensify the economic relationship between both countries and to break the barrier in African trade.

Represented by Bolaji Akinremi, Director of Trade and Economic, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Minister said that Nigeria was prepared for the robust relationship and remains committed to the diversification of the economy through initiating policies and programmes that will boost foreign direct investments.

He urged the government of Tunisia to explore the available potentials that exist in the Nigeria-Tunisia relationship for the benefit of both countries.

The Ambassador of Tunisia to Nigeria, Mohsen Antiit expressed appreciation for the business initiatives and partnership efforts seeking to challenge obstacles and difficulties.

Antiit reiterated Embassy”s willingness to coordinate and work with Nigerians and provide them with the needed goodwill, time and perseverance for the best of both countries.

He urged the stakeholders to transform the forum into real opportunities for cooperation and build the sustainability needed for Tunisia and Nigeria and Africa at large

The President of the Tunisia Africa Business Council, TABC, Anis Jaziri said Tunisia delegations came with experts from economic sector to introduce several business opportunities to different sectors in Nigeria.

He said, “the delegation of 20 companies are from different sectors; includes agribusiness, renewable energy, chemical industry, mechanical industry, electrical industry, metallurgy, information technology, engineering, automobile components, amongst others”

Anis added that “the aim of the forum is to create partnership with the Nigerian Economic operators in several fields.

“Tunisia companies are seeking to build a long term trade relationship with the one of the biggest markets in the region.”
