UK Rolls Out Royal Welcome for Tinubu’s State Visit to Windsor Castle

The United Kingdom (UK) government has unveiled a detailed programme for President Bola Tinubu’s highly anticipated state visit, set to unfold from March 17 to 19 at the historic Windsor Castle, highlighting strengthened bilateral ties between Nigeria and Britain.

According to the official itinerary, the visit will feature high-level bilateral meetings, grand ceremonial events, and special engagements with the Nigerian Diaspora community in the United Kingdom, underscoring the diaspora’s pivotal role in fostering people-to-people connections.

Preparations kick off on March 17 with meticulous security sweeps, road closures across key routes, and rehearsals for the ceremonial procession, ensuring a seamless and secure arrival for the Nigerian leader.

On March 18, President Tinubu will touch down in the UK and receive a warm official reception from Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, marking a significant moment of royal hospitality.

This will be followed by a majestic ceremonial welcome along Datchet Road, complete with the resounding playing of both nations’ national anthems and a formal guard of honour inspection.

The President will then embark on a traditional carriage procession to Windsor Castle, where he will be formally received by King Charles III and Queen Camilla, setting the stage for substantive discussions on trade, investment, and mutual interests.
