FG Declares Thursday, Friday Public Holidays for Eid-el-Fitr

The Federal Government has declared Thursday, March 19, and Friday, March 20, 2026, public holidays to mark Eid-el-Fitr, celebrating the end of Ramadan.
Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo announced this on behalf of the government, extending warm greetings and congratulations to Muslim faithful.
The declaration came via a statement signed by Permanent Secretary, Magdalene Ajani, on Tuesday
Tunji-Ojo urged Muslims to embody Ramadan’s virtues, love, generosity, peace, tolerance, and sacrifice and called on all Nigerians to pray for national peace, unity, and prosperity.
He wished Muslims a joyful celebration, encouraging responsible festivities and kindness to the less privileged.
The government reaffirmed its commitment to national unity and coexistence
