El-Rufai Stays in ICPC Custody Despite Bail Grant
By Ifeyinwa Austine
Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai must remain in ICPC custody until he meets stringent bail conditions, a Federal High Court in Kaduna ruled.
Justice Rilwanu Aikawa granted bail in the corruption case but ordered detention pending fulfillment of the terms.
ADC chieftain and El-Rufai ally, Hayatuddeen Lawal Makarfi, called the conditions outrageous post-ruling, citing nearly 10 requirements including landed properties,
N200 million surety, and more despite El-Rufai’s traditional title.
