The House of Representatives has urged the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to allow its result valid for at least three years.

The house also asked JAMB to conduct the entry exams at least twice annually.

The resolutions followed a motion sponsored by Akintude Rotimi from Ekiti state at plenary on Tuesday.

Rotimi noted that JAMB result is valid for only one year and if candidates do not gain admission into Tertiary Institution in the academic year the exam was taken, the result becomes invalid.

He expressed worry that despite the incessant strike actions embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) which led to the loss of a complete academic calendar, JAMB still went ahead to administer its examination.

Rulling on the motion, the house resolved to constitute an adhoc committee to interface with the federal ministry of education to ensure compliance.
