Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa has charged commanders to dismantle drug cartels and intensify nationwide sensitization in 2026.

At the agency’s annual review meeting in Abuja, he rallied directors, zonal/state commanders, airport/seaport heads, and special units to build on past record seizures and arrests.

Marwa declared 2026 a year of unprecedented consolidation in Drug Supply Reduction and Demand Reduction. “Our goals are clear: disrupt cartels’ financial lifelines and sensitize every community against substance abuse,” he said.

He credited officers diligence for his tenure renewal by President Bola Tinubu and global respect gained.

He stressed that Commanders must execute the strategic plan seamlessly, enforce zero tolerance for compromise, strengthen state drug committees to local levels, and request reinforcements for high-risk ops.

Marwa reassured Nigerians that NDLEA starts 2026 strong, leaving no breathing room for traffickers, stating that public vigilance remains key to victory.
