Nigerian Army Retires 18 NACST Senior Officers After 35 Years of Service in Benin Parade

The Nigerian Army retired 18 senior officers from the Corps of Supply and Transport (NACST), four Major Generals and 14 Brigadier Generals on Thursday in a colorful pulling-out parade in Benin City, Edo State.
Capping a three-day conference themed “Optimising Supply and Transport Capabilities for Effective NA Operations.”
Corps Commander, Danjuma Shagaya praised their decades of dedication in operational, command, and staff roles
He called the event a joyous celebration of service and sacrifice.
He commended Chief of Army Staff for sending a representative and highlighted NACST’s vital logistics role in training, peace missions, and internal security.
Retiree spokesperson, Olaniyi Dare affirmed their ongoing commitment as Army ambassadors, while tributing families’ sacrifices amid separations and relocations.
“We remain available to contribute our experience,” he said, reflecting on the corps’ indispensable sustainment of troops nationwide and abroad.
