Supreme Court to Rule on ADC, PDP Leadership Crises Tomorrow

Nigeria’s Supreme Court will deliver judgments on Thursday, April 30, 2026, in lawsuits over leadership battles in the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The cases are now listed on the court’s website.

The ADC suit, marked SC/CV/180/2026, is scheduled for 2:00 pm, while no time is specified for the PDP case.

Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had de-recognized the David Mark-led ADC leadership based on a Court of Appeal judgment.
It also refused to recognise Nafiu Bala Gombe’s claim to national chairmanship.

INEC stated it would cease dealings with both factions and avoid monitoring their conventions or congresses until the court rules.

In the PDP matter, the Turaki-led faction appeals to validate their national convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, on November 15-16, 2025. They seek to overturn Federal High Court and Court of Appeal rulings that nullified the event.
