The Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) has reaffirmed its commitment to talent development and stronger collaboration between industry and academia through its Executive Industry Immersion Challenge with Nile Business School, Nile University of Nigeria, Abuja.

The four-day programme, which opened at the NDIC Head Office in Abuja, is designed to expose students to practical experience in policy formulation, institutional governance and public sector management.

NDIC Managing Director/Chief Executive, Thompson Oludare Sunday, said the initiative helps bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world corporate practice.

He stressed that the evolving workplace demands professionals with both theoretical knowledge and practical insight.

He also said institutions can only earn public confidence when they consistently demonstrate honesty, ethical conduct, good governance and transparency.

Project Coordinator and Director of Research, Policy and International Relations, Ibrahim Aliyu, said the programme was deliberately structured as an experiential learning platform to connect theory with industry practice.

Dean of Nile Business School, Prof. Hauwa Lamido, represented by Dr. Festus Ekechi, said NDIC was chosen because of its record of corporate governance, professionalism and integrity in Nigeria’s financial sector.

He added that the school would incorporate the lessons from the programme into its curriculum for practical application by students in their workplaces.
