Sharia Court Rulling: Aminu gets temporary Relief.

The Musician, Aminu Yahaya-Sharif who was sentenced to death by a Sharia Court in Kano for alleged blasphemy against the Prophet Mohammed has received a temporary relief.

This is sequel to an order of retrial by the Kano Division of the court of appeal in Kano of the death sentence handed to him .

Recalled that the Sharia court in Kano sentence Yahaya-Sharif to death on August 10, 2020 after he was found guilty of commiting blasphemy in a song.

Many Nigerians raised concerns over the ruling but despite the public outcry, the Supreme Council for Sharia in Nigeria urged the Kano state government to execute the court judgment.

Currentnews learnt that though the high court dismissed the death sentence, denied him bail and ordered his retrial before another Sharia court.

The Singer challenged the judgement before the state high court as well as the Lawyer who also kicked against the rulling and appealed the verdict of the high court.

The Appeal court on Wednesday session via zoom upheld the initial judgement of the high court which ordered the retrial of the case in sharia court. As two of the Judges backed the defendant.
