FG Declares Friday Public Holiday for Workers’ Day

The Federal Government has declared Friday a public holiday to mark this year’s International Workers’ Day.
Interior Minister, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo announced the decision, with the ministry’s Permanent Secretary , Magdalene Ajani issuing a statement congratulating workers nationwide.
Tunji-Ojo praised Nigerian workers’ commitment and contributions to national development, calling their efforts essential for progress and economic stability.
He urged them to embody patriotism, diligence, and dedication as drivers of sustainable growth.
The minister reaffirmed the government’s pledge to enhance workers’ welfare, security, and an enabling economic environment.
Wishing a fulfilling celebration, he called on all citizens to uphold peace and the law, using the day to reflect on unity and hard work’s role in nation-building.
