Tinubu Appoints Bianca Ojukwu Foreign Affairs Minister, Nominates Enikanolaiye as Minister of State

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu as Minister of Foreign Affairs, succeeding Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar who resigned to run in the 2027 elections.

A former Minister of State in the ministry, Odumegwu-Ojukwu assumes the role immediately.

Tinubu also nominated Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye (Kogi State) as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, pending Senate confirmation.

Until recently, Enikanolaiye served as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and International Relations.

The veteran diplomat boasts over 30 years in Nigeria’s foreign service, including as Permanent Secretary and postings in Addis Ababa, Belgrade, Ottawa, London, and New Delhi.

These moves aim to strengthen Nigeria’s foreign policy for efficiency, strategic global engagement, economic diplomacy, regional stability, and Nigerian welfare abroad.

Tinubu congratulated them and called for diligent service to national interests.
