Nigeria Condoles with DR Congo Over Ebola Outbreak

The Federal Government of Nigeria has extended condolences to the Government and people of the Democratic Republic of Congo over the Ebola outbreak that has claimed more than 130 lives and infected over 500 people.
Nigeria expressed deep sadness over the impact of the outbreak on families and communities, and said it stands in solidarity with the Democratic Republic of Congo during this period of grief and public health emergency.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs commended health authorities, frontline medical workers, humanitarian groups and international partners for their efforts to contain the disease and care for those affected.
It also reaffirmed Nigeria’s support for regional and international cooperation to combat infectious diseases and strengthen public health response systems across Africa.
Nigeria prayed for the repose of the departed, a quick recovery for the infected, and comfort for bereaved families.
