The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, and Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu have congratulated Muslims across Nigeria on this year’s Eid-el-Kabir, urging prayers for peace, unity, and national progress.

In separate messages, the two presiding officers called on Muslims and all Nigerians to reflect on the lessons of sacrifice, obedience, faith, and charity that define the Sallah celebration.

Speaker Abbas said the occasion symbolises total submission to the will of Allah, as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim, and urged Nigerians to extend kindness to the poor, the needy and the less privileged.

He also called for special prayers for the country as it moves closer to the 2027 general elections, asking for peaceful polls, unity, prosperity and political stability.

Deputy Speaker Kalu, in his own message, urged Nigerians to let the spirit of Eid-el-Kabir guide their daily lives and to support one another, especially the vulnerable in society.

He called on citizens to pray for wisdom and direction for leaders at all levels, saying Nigerians must rise above divisions and work together for a prosperous and secure nation.
