President Buhari Meets Released Abuja-Kaduna Train Passengers

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday visited the 23 released victims of the Abuja- Kaduna train attack on the 28 March, 2022.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President, Garba Shehu who disclosed this in a statement on Thursday in Abuja said, the President visited the train survivors at the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) hospital in Kaduna.

It would be recalled that the remaining 23 victims of the Kaduna-Abuja train attack were rescued on Wednesday .

President Buhari was in Afaka Kaduna state at the passing out parade and commissioning Cadets of 69 Regular Course of the NDA

After that he made an unannounced trip to the hospital to meet the victims of the train incident.

He made a detour to the hospital before boarding NAF 001 to return to Abuja from the Kaduna International Airport.

According to the statement, President Buhari thanked the Nigerian military for their valiant efforts in securing the victims from Boko Haram terrorists .

The Chief of Defence Staff, General Leo Irabor, had earlier briefed and introduced the Committee members to the President.

Members of the Chief of Defence Staff Action Committee led by Major General Usman Abdulkadir (rtd), who facilitated the release of the train victims, were present at the hospital.

Major General Adamu Jalingo (rtd), Brig.-Gen. Abubakar Saad (rtd), Dr. Murtala Ahmed Rufai, Ibrahim Abdulllahi, Ambassador Ahmed Magaji and Prof Yusuf Usman, Secretary were also present at the hospital.
