Abiante, Wase Re-elected, As Senate Spokesperson, Bashiru Loses To PDP

A Federal Lawmaker representing Andoni- Opobo/Nkoro Federal Constituency of Rivers state in the House of Representatives, Hon. Awaji-Inombek Dagomie Abiante has been re-elected for the third term.
The INEC returning Officer, Dr. Sylva Waribugo on Sunday declared that Abiante who contested on the platform of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) polled 10,163 votes to defeat his opponents Warisenibo Maclean Uranta of All Progressives Congress (APC) who scored the total votes of 4,252, and a candidate of Labour Party (LP) Eneyo Igbanam Silas who scored 3,238 votes.
Abiante expressed gratitude to the people.of Andoni- Opobo/Nkoro Federal Constituency for their support to re-elect him to the house.
He assured them of good representation and to bring more developmental projects to the constituency.
Also, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Idris Wase has been declared the winner of Wase Federal Constituency of Plateau state in the 2023 election .
According to the coalition officer for the Constituency,, Prof. Sati Umaru Fwatshak, the Deputy Speaker scored
a total of 31,499 votes to defeat his closest rival, Ibrahim Bawa Kanji of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 25, 513 votes.
Reacting to his victory, Wase thanked his constituents for their overwhelming support and assured them of more democratic dividends.
On the contrary, the Senate spokesperson, Sen. Ajibola Bashiru, has lost his bid for re-election into the upper chamber of the National Assembly.
The Lawmaker who represents Osun Central on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) lost to the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Fadeyi Olubiyi.
The INEC Returning Officer, Prof. Ibrahim Usman, who announced the result in Osogbo, the Osun State capital on Sunday, said Olubiyi polled 134, 229 votes to defeat Bashiru, who scored 117, 609 votes.
