By Ifeyinwa Austine
Chief of Army Staff, Maj-Gen Waidi Shaibu, visited northeast on Friday to rally troops and assess operations following the recent killing of a Brigadier-General and soldiers in insurgent attacks.
Shaibu was welcomed at the Muhammadu Buhari International Cargo Airport in Damaturu by Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni.
He emphasised the visit’s goals: boosting morale, reviewing security, and honoring fallen heroes.
“The Nigerian Army remains resolute in confronting threats,” Shaibu told troops at Sector 2 Joint Task Force headquarters under Operation Hadin Kai.
He urged aggressive action against terrorists while adapting strategies to new challenges.
During interactions, the army chief charged personnel to sustain their fight against insurgency, vowing to adjust tactics for evolving dangers.
